We inspect buildings, find the problems and give you a clear way forward. That might mean a survey, a fire strategy, a drawing, a repair specification or straightforward advice.
We also inspect fire doors and compartmentation, prepare fire strategies and plans, and turn survey findings into repair packages contractors can price.

Start with the problem
You do not need to know the name of the service.
Choose the sentence that comes closest. If none of them fits, send us the problem in your own words. We will not force the building into the wrong service.
Where we would start
Fire Risk Assessment
From £295
We ask how the building is occupied, who may need help to escape and what hazards are present. Floor area matters, but it never gets the final say.
Check the travel charge
The first part is enough. NR25, PE8 or SW1 will do.
Enter the outward district to check travel.
The calculator gives you a figure straight away. If the answers show unusual risk, missing information or difficult access, Aegis reads the details before confirming the fee.
The work we do
Inspection is only useful if it leads somewhere.
Sometimes the answer is a risk assessment. Sometimes it is a door schedule, a missing fire strategy or a repair package a contractor can finally price. Start with the outcome you need.
Fire Risk Assessments
We walk the building, look at the records and speak to the people who know how it is really used.
The report separates immediate concerns from sensible improvements and explains why each action is there. If something is acceptable, we do not invent work.

Fire Door Inspections
Every door is looked at as a complete assembly: leaf, frame, gaps, seals, closer, ironmongery, glazing and damage.
Each door is identified, photographed and given a clear result. The schedule can go straight to the person arranging repairs.

Compartmentation Surveys
We follow the walls and floors that are meant to contain fire, including risers, ceiling voids and service penetrations.
Defects are photographed and pinned to the plans so the next team can find them. Areas we could not reach are recorded rather than quietly ignored.

DSEAR Assessments
For places using or storing fuel, gases, solvents, aerosols, batteries or materials that create combustible dust.
The assessment follows the substance from storage through use and possible release, then looks at ignition sources, controls and whether hazardous areas need defining.

Fire Safety Consultancy
Fire safety audits, personal emergency evacuation plans, management systems and the difficult question nobody wants to own.
Use Aegis for one decision or keep us alongside your property team for ongoing advice. Send the documents, book a focused call or bring us to site. You will get a clear view of the problem and the next decision.

Building Fire Strategies
One document that explains how escape, compartmentation, alarms, smoke control, firefighting access and management are meant to work together.
For a new design, alteration, change of use or an existing building where nobody can find a reliable strategy. Departures and assumptions are made visible.

Fire Safety Plans & Drawings
When the only plan is an old PDF, a blurry scan or nothing at all, we turn it into a drawing people can actually use.
Existing plans can be redrawn, buildings can be measured and fire safety information can be added in one consistent set.

Passive Fire Remediation Design
A survey can leave you with hundreds of defects and no fair way to ask contractors for a price. This is the missing step.
We review the findings, group repeat defects, set out the required performance and prepare repair details and a pricing schedule contractors can work from.

Something else?
You may have found a problem during a project, received a report that creates more questions or become caught between an insurer, a contractor and an enforcing authority.
Tell us what has happened in ordinary language. We will decide whether it belongs with Aegis and say so honestly if it does not.
The inspection matters, but so does what happens afterwards. The evidence has to be clear enough for somebody else to make the next decision.
Fire door inspectionsEach door is checked as a complete assembly and recorded clearly.Compartmentation surveysWe look above ceilings, inside risers and wherever the fire resisting construction continues.Strategies, drawings and specificationsWe turn what has been found into documents the next person can actually use.
Buildings we know
Different buildings need different questions.
Choose the closest match. We will show where we would normally start; the next questions uncover what makes this building different.
For listed and heritage buildings
We establish what the building does now, what protection may be original and where intervention could create a new problem. The report distinguishes essential fire work from unnecessary damage.
We tell you what we know, what we do not, and what matters first.
A good report does not hide uncertainty or bury the client in actions. It records the evidence, explains the judgement and leaves a route forward.
First
Send what you have
Plans, old reports, photographs or simply the problem in your own words.
Before we begin
We challenge the brief
If the requested survey will not answer the real question, we say so before you spend money.
On site
We inspect what matters
The site work follows the agreed question, and anything we cannot see or prove is recorded.
At the end
You get something usable
A report, drawing or specification that can go to the people making the next decision.

Qualifications show where competence starts. A clear scope shows where it ends. If a job needs another specialist, Aegis says so.
Before you ask
Questions we are often asked.
If your question is not here, email it. You do not need to know the right fire safety term before getting in touch.
Are the online prices fixed?
Some are fixed and some are a starting estimate. Fire door bands and consultancy options are clear fees. Work involving unusual hazards, difficult access or several buildings is checked before the final fee is agreed.
Why can a small building cost more?
A small building is not always simple. Fuel, oxygen, machinery, sleeping risk, people who need help to escape or a poor escape layout can matter far more than floor area. The questions are designed to catch that.
Do I pay when I send the form?
No. Sending the form gives Aegis the information needed to check the scope and proposed date. Any deposit is only requested after the work and price have been confirmed with you.
What if my postcode is outside the listed areas?
You can still enquire. Some areas include a travel or overnight allowance; locations outside the online zones are priced manually before anything is booked.
Can several services be dealt with together?
Often, yes. For example, an assessment, door inspection and plans may sensibly be coordinated. Tell us the whole problem and we can scope the work together.
Is DSEAR available now?
It is a planned specialist service and early enquiries are welcome. DSEAR work will only be accepted once the required qualification is complete.
Send us what you have
Tell us about the building and what you need to solve.
Add the postcode and any reports, plans or photographs you have. We will ask for anything else when it matters.
